Blogger or WordPress? – the Winner Is..

If you do some surfing around the web, you will probably find that a majority of people advocate WordPress than Blogger.

Do you know why?

WordPress has an almost rabid following because it is built for ‘Web 2.0′. It comes with the inherent ability for users to utilize third party plugins, as well as tiny add-on programs called widgets. These add-ons enhance the functionality of the blog and make it better looking. If you do a search on Google for WordPress widgets, you may come back with a few days worth of data.

So if WordPress has so many cool plugins and widgets, then why do I recommend Blogger. The answer is not complicated. I am looking for traffic from the search engines and in particular visitors from Google. Since Google owns Blogger, I think we would be simple minded not to make an educated guess that they give Blogspot.com blogs more search engine oomph. To me that is what it is all about.

Also, it is so simple to produce blogs using Blogger. Even a person with no prior blogging knowledge can have a blog set up within 10 minutes. It is also extremely straightforward to add Google AdSense to Blogger blogs, while it can be a challenge on WordPress blogs. Once you have gotten your AdSense publisher ID, you just click a link to add an AdSense block to your blog and you can start earning income.

So the selection is clear-cut, if you want a more aesthetically pleasing blog, then go with WordPress. If you want a blog that you can throw up easily and quickly, get boat loads of traffic and make some quick adsense money, then go with Blogger.

There are now some excellent software tools available, that let you set up and administrate multiple Blogger blogs from one central location. This makes it much simpler to monetize your efforts with Blogger.

Adsense for Mobile is a Great Way to Earn Money

AdSense is an advertising program run byGoogle. It is a revolutionary method to earn from a websites traffic. AdSense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publishers arsenal. Google AdSense has been particularly important for delivering advertising revenue to small websites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and salespeople.

Many sites use adsense to monetize their content and some webmasters work hard to maximize their own adsense income. Adsense revenue is generated when a visitor to your site clicks through an Adsense Ad you have displayed. When the user clicks the image, he or she is redirected to the advertiser’s website in the same way as regular AdSense advertisements.

The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a Vickrey second price auction, in that it commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (not observable by competitors). Combine AdSense with affiliate products, maybe selling a couple of your own products and paid blogging gigs, and yea, $500-$1k per week is possible.

Website Content

Google AdSense for Mobile unlocks the potential of the mobile advertising market. As part of our ongoing efforts to develop new ways for users to find the information they need anytime and anywhere, Google announced today the availability of AdSense for Mobile, a program that contextually targets ads to mobile website content. Like its traditional AdSense program this will contextually targets ads to mobile website content. The system automatically reviews the content of publishers’ mobile websites and delivers text ads that are relevant to the websites’ audience and content. “With this program, advertisers can connect with the growing number of mobile publishers, ultimately providing users with an enhanced mobile experience that helps them find what they are looking for more quickly and efficiently on the go,” said Google, as it yesterday announced AdSense for Mobile, a program that contextually targets ads to mobile website content.

Google Adsense For Mobile

Google says that AdSense for Mobile is intended for adsense partners who have created websites specifically for mobile browsers, and who want to monetise their mobile content via contextual advertising. AdSense for Mobile is identical to AdSense for Web sites, which places ads on participating publishers’ sites that correspond to the publishers’ content. Google Adsense for Mobile is ultimate way to make money because this is a new product so there is less competition. However, adsense for mobile is only out to certain selected publishers so far for their mobile platform optimized sites.

AdSense for Mobile gives the ability to AdSense publishing partners to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads. AdSense for Mobile provides a valuable way to connect mobile users with the right ad at the right time as they seek information on the go. adsense mobile text ads run on an auction model, in the same fashion to regular Adsense/ Adwords ads are offered.

“When you add the new AdSense for mobile code to your site,” explained Alex Kenin, Product Marketing Manager for AdSense for Mobile, “we’ll display relevant ads using the same targeting technology that you are familiar with for existing AdSense products. With that, Google is giving Adsense a free reign allowing AdSense publishing partners the ability to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads.

Conclusion

Mobile advertising tiny, but a potential goldmine. In fact, there are currently more mobile devices worldwide than personal computers and televisions combined. Mobile browser development is now bounding ahead. AdSense for Mobile is intended for AdSense partners who have created websites specifically for mobile browsers, and who want to monetize their mobile content via contextual advertising. AdSense for Mobile also allows AdSense publishing partners the ability to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads. Now, with the formal launch of AdSense for Mobile, Google seems to be getting into the transportability trend.

Blogging With Blogger

Blogger is one of the many options available to bloggers who are looking for free blog software. This website located at the following web address: http://www.blogger.com offers registered users the opportunity to publish their own blog free of charge. The website also has templates the blogger can use to create his blog and even enables bloggers to easily place Google advertisements on their blog and coordinates an AdSense account for the users so they can potentially earn a profit from their blog. This article will discuss the history of Blogger as well as the terms of service.

The History of Blogger

Blogger began in 1999 with a small group of friends in the San Francisco area who ran a company called Pyra Labs. These friends did not set out to create a network of bloggers but nevertheless Blogger emerged from their efforts. The three friends who developed bloggers were programmers who toiled away for others in an effort to fund their own endeavors. As previously mentioned a blog network was not their original goal but the friends were intrigued by the idea as it emerged and found others were interested too as their concept quickly took off and new members were joining everyday. Like most Internet entrepreneurs of this time period, they experienced setbacks but continued to persevere.

In 2002 Blogger was doing well but got an unexpected surprise when Google expressed interest in purchasing Pyra Labs. Google was interested in the upswing in the blogging community and the members of Pyra Lab sold their company enabling Google to take over the operation. Since taking over Google introduced the concept of AdSense advertising campaigns on blogs which has been generating profits for Google and bloggers alike. Blogger not only offers members templates to create a blog and voice their opinions on the Internet but also simplifies the process of placing AdSense advertisements on the blog.

Blogger Terms of Service

The Terms of Service of Blogger are susceptible to change but there are a few basic terms which users can expect to exist. The Terms of Service for Blogger provides explanations of items such as the services offered, description of proper use of the services, privacy policies, an explanation of intellectual property rights, cause for termination and information regarding the legal jurisdiction of the website. Members of Blogger are advised to carefully review these policies before becoming a member and to be sure they understand and agree to all of these terms. If the potential member is unsure about the meaning of one or more of the terms, he should contact Blogger to seek clarification on the Terms of Service.

Members of Blogger should also be aware that the Terms of Service may change and should review these terms periodically to ensure there have been no changes made which will adversely impact the member.

Members of Blogger should pay particular attention to the section of the Terms of Service which specify causes for termination of a member’s account. This information is important because it will help to prevent the member from inadvertently performing an action which may result in his account being terminated or suspended. Blogger is not required to inform the member of the infractions before suspending the account so a member will likely lose his account before he is even aware he has violated the Terms of Service agreement.

Make Money With Blogging in Three Legitimate Tricks

Believe it or not, but it’s actually possible to make money from blogging. One teenager has, in fact, earned $5,000 a month just from making posts on his blog! Of course, not every blogger is this lucky. It does take some skill, and some luck to make money from blogging.
What it also takes is some knowledge of how exactly to generate income just by posting blogs. We will go over three specific methods of making money on your blog: Adsense, Pay Per Lead, and Affiliate Links. So how exactly do I make money on my blog? You do it by working with another company that wants to use your blog as a form of advertising. It sounds like selling out, right? Not exactly. The advertising can be as in your face or subtle as you want. And it can still make you money, provided you have enough visitors to your blog. What is Adsense? Adsense is a program offered by Google.
The program, if installed, will display ads provided by Google. How do I get Adsense? First. At the bottom of the screen is a link for Advertising Programs. Click on that. Then click on the link for Adsense. Scroll down on the page that comes up and click Here To Apply! You then fill out the form with information about yourself. After 12-48 hours, Google will notify you via email whether or not your site has been accepted. When you’ve been accepted, set up your ads by doing either of the following: If you can set up your adsense ads by going to your profile, selecting settings, template, add an element. Then select AdSense and login with your account info.
Next, you’ll configure your ads and save the template. That’s it. If you are self-hosting your blog, you’ll have to set up AdSense in more of a manual way. You’ll create your ads(which can be as small or as tall as you want) and then copy the HTML/Javascript code Google gives you. Then you’ll paste it into your blog(on the left, right, or top of the screen). For the first few days, the ads displayed by Google will be Public Service Announcements. After the ads have been up a few days, though, the ads will switch to ads that are relevant to your blog.
How does Adsense work? Every time a visitor clicks an Adsense ad, you get a little bit of money(usually around 30-60 cents). The amount you get for each ad clicked depends on the number of unique visitors you receive on your blog. The more visitors, the more money that can be earned. Google will then send a check or pay you through Paypal once you’ve made at least $100 from the ads. It is important to remember that Google will penalize you if you click your own ads, or if you ask visitors specifically to click ads. So don’t do that! Pay Per Click Pay Per Click is basically just like adsense, except you don’t just work with Google you work with multiple companies.
BidVertiser is one such company you can sign up with to do Pay Per Click advertising. How do I get Pay Per Click You sign up with a site like Bidvertiser and then follow their instructions to set up the Pay Per Click ads on your site. How does Pay Per Click work? It works by paying you money each time someone clicks an ad that you display. You won’t get paid for multiple clicks from the same user in the same visitor, nor will you get paid for someone simply visiting your site. You only get paid for legitimate clicks. Affiliate Links Affiliate links are basically links which people pay you for. Companies will actually pay owners of popular blogs to post links on their blog. You can do as much Affiliate linking as you want. How do I get Affiliate Links? You can get Affiliate links by searching or Affiliate Link Programs on the internet.
Once you find an Affiliate link program that looks good to you, sign up for it. Then you can follow their instructions for putting the link(s) on your blog. How do Affiliate Links work? Like the other two methods mentioned above, Affiliate links work by paying you money each time they are clicked. You get paid for each click per unique visitor. So now you have it, three legitimate ways to make money from blogging.
It is important to keep in mind that the amount of money you are able to make depends on how many visitors your blog draws. If you draw a lot, you’ll make a lot. If not, the money you earn will be modest. But it’s still extra money, so keep doing it! Making money using Adsense, Pay Per Click or Affiliate Link programs is easy and effective. Start monetizing your blog today!

Article Marketing Seo Tricks To Get Your Articles Seen Within The First 10 Results On Google

If you want to get your articles within the top 10 results on Google or other search engines, listen up, because these tips are POWERFUL for SEO.

1) Put the keywords your audience is looking for within the title of your article. For example, if you sell golf carts, then you could use “How to Find the Perfect Golf Cart” or “Golf Carts – Which Ones Are the Best?”

Google loves titles and headlines. It’s one of the first things their algorithms look at when they spider your website or article repositories like EzineArticles. The spiders put huge emphasis on the title of your articles, so make sure you pick the keywords for it very carefully.

2) Put the keywords you used in the title in the first couple of sentences of your article. Let’s take the golf cart example again. You could write something like “Looking for the perfect golf cart? Read this article to see which golf carts you may want to look at.”

Google also loves the first part of your article. Consider that this part of the listing typically shows up in the “description” part of Google’s results (if you don’t put a special meta-description for the article). When you match up the title and the first few sentences of an article, Google judges your article to be an aesthetic (relevant) match for it’s users.

3) Make sure your article is about the title you are using. Again with the golf example (I don’t like golf, nor do I play it, I don’t know why I picked this…:-) ) – if you are writing about golf carts, don’t make your article about the best golf swing. This will mislead your readers and Google could penalize you.

4) Always, always, always use keywords if the option is available. You may be uploading your own articles to WordPress or your own site, or you may be uploading them to some article directories that allow you to enter keywords within a submission field. MAKE SURE you include relevant keywords within these fields or the meta-keywords option. Google puts high priority on this function. Do not ignore this.

5) Most people don’t know this next tip – name your pictures and files with the keywords with which you want to optimize your articles. Example: if you have a picture of a golf cart, populate it’s “properties” in an HTML editing program with relevant keywords – golf, cart, best golf carts, etc. Google LOVES this.

It also has an aesthetic effect. Have you ever hovered over a picture and words appear over it? That’s what this effect does. It’s a bit more technical, so if you don’t know how to do this, learn how or have a webmaster do it for you.

We will continue with more highly potent SEO strategies for getting your articles within the top 10 spots on Google in future articles.

how to make adsense

What is Death of Adsense?

Recent changes in the Google Adsense program has many online website owners and marketers seriously concerned. Many have seen their Adsense profits and income flatline… seen their four or five figure monthly adsense income disappear overnight. For many the Google Adsense bubble has burst.

What happened?

First, Google made a change in its Adsense program, letting advertisers choose between putting their ads in the search results or on the content pages of adsense publishers. Search won out and started to receive the higher bids. Search results convert better than content ads.

Next, Google has cracked down on Junk adsense sites, like they should. These sites consisted mainly of software generated re-hashed search engine links and were totally annoying to say the least. But Google also cracked down on ‘squeeze pages’ or ‘affiliate landing pages’ – a lucrative source of income for many online marketers, mainly because these pages helped marketers build an opt-in list or use permission based email.

The results of these changes produced an Adsense meltdown for many online marketers.

Some Internet marketers are speculating recent changes could even mean the death of Adsense. One online marketer, Scott Boulch even published a free report entitled ‘The Death of Adsense”.

Many affiliate marketers would agree with Boulch on some of his points, especially the obvious fact that using Adsense on your web content is starting on the bottom rung of the online marketing ladder. Instead of receiving pennies per click with Adsense, alert marketers and webmasters have already discovered that by using CPA (Cost-Per-Action) and direct affiliate links, they can produce significantly more revenue from their web pages. Why earn pennies per click when you can earn $5, $10 or OVER $100 per click?

But the fine people at Google are catching on…

In the past Google has made its own swing to the Cost-Per-Action direction with its referral system for the Firefox Browser and giving webmasters credit for signing up adwords and adsense accounts.

Many online marketers believe Google needs to expand on these baby steps and open their Adsense affiliate program up to third party products/advertisers. In a recent company statement Google offered some hope: “We’re always looking for new ways to provide effective and useful features to advertisers, publishers, and users,” the company stated “As part of these efforts we are currently testing a cost-per-action (CPA) pricing model to give advertisers more flexibility and provide publishers another way to earn revenue through AdSense.” Basically, in cost-per-action, advertisers pay for leads, purchases or customer acquisition. It would help with the click fraud issue and the monetary returns could potentially make Adsense’s revenues pale in comparison.

As more and more commerce goes online… acquiring customers for such diverse services as insurance, real estate, telephone, marketing, web hosting, travel, mortgage loans, cable TV, banking… you name it, almost any service or product sold in the marketplace is now turning to the Internet for customers and lifelong clients.

Enormous sums of money will change hands. Perhaps, the most lucrative of these is customer acquisition. Advertisers are turning to the Internet and webmasters/marketers for acquiring these lifelong customers for their respective services and products. Businesses and companies are quickly realizing paying an attractive lead generating fee/commission is smart business. They quickly build a client base for their services or products and quickly recoup their expenses – realizing in the long run these leads will generate huge profits.

It can also mean huge profits for the CPA networks like ValueClick’s Commission Junction and Rakuten’s LinkShare who supply the advertisers with publishers and website marketers to harvest these leads. It can be a lucrative venture for all involved, especially for those online marketers who have cornered the search engines for lucrative niche markets in big ticket items. Even small ticket items pay quite well for those marketers who know how to market online.

Contextual advertising is fine, but CPA (Cost-Per-Action) will offer much better returns for the website owner. Making any profitable site much more profitable. It will and is opening up a whole area of marketing opportunities that never existed before we had the Internet. Creating a complex structure of advertisers, publishers and the Affiliate/CPA companies that connect the two.

Of course, cutting out the middle man has always been even a more profitable venture for most marketers. As more and more webmasters realize they can make much more with dealing directly with companies, rather than going through a middle process like Google Adsense or the countless other affiliate/CPA networks … online marketers can reap even bigger rewards.

For an online marketer when you get a phone call or email from the CEO or the affiliate manager with a company or service you’re promoting with your website – you know you have made it! Dealing directly with a company usually means bigger commissions and special exclusive deals just for you or your sites.

Only fly in the ointment, all that extra paperwork and business wheeling and dealing. Many marketers and website owners like the idea of someone else handling all the tracking, collecting payments, promotional materials… they just like to sit back and build more websites and content. It gives the affiliate marketer a lifestyle that they are looking for on the web. They just like to market and promote with their sites and let someone else worry about the details. Therefore, there will always be a place for contextual ads like Google Adsense… “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.”

However, could CPA be a better alternative for the current Adsense contextual ads?

Google would be the natural choice for a middleman if there ever was one. Besides, many savvy marketers know the Google brand name is trusted online, any product/service promoted through Google would be an easy sell. Many argue Google already dominates the web, why should it not be the one to handle these CPA transactions through its Adsense program.

On the flip side, over countless updates and changes to its indexing, many webmasters have experienced more than a few negative dealings with Google. Many have won, many have lost in this Google Age, but all have realized riding the Google Search Engine is like running with the bulls at Pamplona, totally thrilling unless you’re one of the unfortunate few who get trampled in the process
